Thanks to Superheroes being so popular in the mainstream nowadays, it’s a pretty banner time for us Superhero geeks. I’ve been acquiring quite a collection of tshirts, and I thought it was time to document them. As my hero of preference is Spiderman, these are mostly of him, but there is one Robin shirt too. All the shirts below are short sleeve tshirts that were found in mainstream stores. Most of these are no longer available, although you may find them on eBay if you’re lucky. Enjoy!

I believe this was one of my first mainstream Spidey shirts, and the one I tend to receive the most compliments on . Bought at Target. |
This may have been my second shirt. It’s very similar to the first, but I like having a few villains in there too. Also Target. |
Spidey in the spotlight. Target yet again! And when I last checked, it was still currently available in their stores (at least, it was as of last week). |
This is actually my newest acquisition. Bought from Old Navy. This was also available as of last week, although growing scarce. |
Ran into this by chance at Kohls. It’s actually a bit big on me, but it was on clearance, and it was the closest to my size. |
The classic bondage shirt. This was very elusive to find. It’s listed on many sites (just google “Spiderman in Bondage shirt”), but it’s often out. At first I only manged to find it in Medium on a comic site, which is a bit large for me. A number of years later, I discovered it in a small via eBay. So you never know. |

Junk Food brand has some great superhero stuff. This was bought at Macy’s. In case you can’t read the caption, it says, “Real heroes wear tights!”. I can’t agree more. 😉 This is still available on the Junk Food clothing website (just google “Junk Food Clothing”) |

Spidey halloween costume shirt, bought at Target for $5. The back is solid red. To be honest, I’ve yet to wear this one out yet. |
This is actually from a Spiderman costume found online. The back is solid red. I like the tears and rips in the design, but it’s a bit small on me, and the fabic is 100% polyester, giving it sort of a sheen that makes it weird to wear in the mainstream. Because of this, I haven’t worn this out yet either. |
This was my first Superhero shirt, but I bought before I was even into the whole lycra scene , so at the time it was more for a lark. I found it on the discount rack at Urban Outfitters, of all places. This was also before superheroes were as popular as they are in the mainstream, so this was quite ahead of it’s time. The back is solid yellow, to emulate the cape. Believe it or not, but I have worn this out in normal, daily life at times! It tends to be a hit. 😉 |
Okay, this one’s not a Superhero shirt, but it is the very limited edition Pride shirt available at only 26 Old Navy Stores. Most have sold out. My BF and I were the first to get ours in Los Angeles. So I had to brag a bit. |
I hope you enjoyed this glimpse into my wardrobe! This is not meant to be a complete collection by any means… just visit eBay or Amazon, and you can find a ton more of Spiderman shirts. But these are the ones I like best.
I was browsing around a bit online, and I also ran into this shirt. I don’t care for the art… it looks almost juvenile to me… but I really can’t argue with the sentiment, and I couldn’t resist it–I’ve already ordered it. It’s from Junk Food.
I mean, I can’t argue with that message, can I dear readers? After all, you helped make it true for me! So give an extra smile to any SoCal guy you see wearing this shirt… it may be me… 🙂
